Educational Sessions

Evaluating Green Building Technology-Ron Euteneuer, CBO, CMA & Art Buhs, Green Building Contractor (4 hr session)
Information on everything from geothermal systems for heating and cooling, to structural insulated panels (SIPs) for roofing, walls and flooring, to pervious paving that allows precipitation to soak back into the ground and not through the sewers.

Unique Appraisal Problems-Rick Stuart, CAE & Marion Johnson, CAE (in two 4 hr sessions)
Making aware the difficulties encountered by assessors when valuing unique property or structural problems, discussing the standard on valuation of properties affected by environment contamination. How do mold, mercury, snakes, meth labs, Chinese drywall and even "hauntings" affect value? What do you do with housing booms that go bust? Do out of town buyers affect the market? These subjects and more were discussed and answered.

And many more!

Tour of Target Field-Home of the Minnesota Twins

The tour included the underground workings as well as concessions, seating and ground keeping. Ductwork takes necessary items up to concessions in the upper decks, such as grease and beer. The steel frame is coated with fire proof materials. Exterior and many interior walls are covered with native limestone quarried in Mankato MN. The main videoboard is the 4th largest in Major League Baseball. The wood floor laid in the Town Ball Tavern is the actual floor from the Minneapolis Armory, the prior home of the Minneapolis Lakers before their move to Los Angeles. Seating is stacked to accommodate the small space the field was built on and actually provides closer views of the action. The Budweiser Roof Deck and Champion's Club is available for events besides the games. A light rail is available to transport game goers to and from many street level locations, parking garages, bus connections and the airport.
