Dear SDAAO Members:

As we start the 2010 – 2011 association year, I am honored to be your SDAAO President.

This next year will be a busy one within our offices and the association. As an association we are losing some members to retirement, welcoming their replacements, keeping informed of new legislation and legislators, and working on making our association a positive benefit to all members. In our offices we are all dealing with a second year of productivity and working to get the bugs out besides our everyday work.

We have had some major changes with the funding of the Assessor’s School and the Executive Board along with the Department of Revenue and Regulation are working hard to handle these changes but not lose quality in education. Our Education Committee is working to promote workshops and classes that will help us all do our jobs better. Anyone having any suggestions or concerns about education within our association, please, contact any member of the Education Committee.

My door is always open, so I hope anyone having a question or suggestion about any association activity will not hesitate to let me know.

I look foreword to seeing everyone at school in Pierre and at conference at Cedar Shore Resort, Oacoma.
