NORTHERN PRAIRIE NOTES

By Bonnie Fosheim, CAA, Property Tax Specialist,
Department of Revenue and Regulation

Greetings from the North East part of South Dakota.  Hope everyone is having a safe summer.  Fall is here and winter is just around the corner. My how time goes by.  Congratulations to SDAAO President Russ Ronke and his crew for putting on a great conference in Watertown. It was very interesting and enjoyable.  Great Job!  Congratulations to Carrie Stephenson in Hyde County on becoming the new SDAAO Treasurer.

Carrie will do a great job as treasurer and is a great asset to the association.

The ag productivity meetings being held throughout the state are going very well. We are pleased with the attendance. There will also be a workshop at school on Monday night after class on productivity. If you have any questions on anything don’t be afraid to ask.

I hope everyone enjoyed the summer and got their summer projects done.  School is only a few weeks away. I’m sorry to say that I won’t be attending our school this year. My daughter(my baby) is a senior this year and it is Homecoming week the week of school. I need to be there for her. I know you understand because I have heard that others won’t be attending school because of Homecoming week also in their towns. I’m going to miss seeing you at school.

Audit time will also be fast approaching.  Please get your sales information in as soon as possible so we can get started early and finish up early with the audits.  We want to welcome Russ Hanson to Revenue. He will be working on the audits this year.

Seems like I keep telling you this but I’m going to be Grandma again. This makes three grandchildren. My son and daughter-in-law are going to have a baby the end of September. How exciting that will be. Another one to spoil. I guess that’s what Grandmas are supposed to do.

Take care. Hope for a mild winter.
